8 ways to 10x your productivity

8 ways to 10x your productivity

“I’m too busy”

“I don’t have enough time”

“I’ll do it later”

Does that sound familiar?

All too often we can find ourselves being busy and not productive and then we get to the end of the week and we realise we haven’t got any closer to what we wanted to accomplish

We haven’t gotten any closer to our goals but the bigger problem is, we don’t know how to get out of this vicious cycle

But here’s some tips that will help you to 10x your productivity and execute well so you can finish the year strong!

  1. Plan your week in advance!

It is so important to decide how you will spend your time before the week starts so that you don’t waste time! Time is precious and you should plan your week according to your goals for the month broken down. I have a whole blog post dedicated to this which you can check out below:

2. Use the 80/20 rule

Be honest with yourself, are you doing all the things that get you nowhere closer to your goals but make you feel productive? That’s why a lot of us get no closer to our goals. The Pareto rule states that only 20% of what we do gets us 80% of the results. So what 20% of actions could you be doing to be more productive.

3. Prioritise

This is something that a lot of people find very challenging but is important in avoiding overwhelm. Too often, we all have too much to do but the difference between getting overwhelmed and being productive is ordering your work in terms of what is most important and what is most urgent and set those into categories. Don’t do anything in the second category until the first category of most important things are done.

4. Evaluate your week

At the end of your week, look at how successful your week was. Did you complete all the tasks you set yourself? Did you stick to your non-negotiable habits? Are you closer to your goals? If not, look at what is preventing you from completing your tasks and create a strategy so that it is no longer an obstacle.

5. Eliminate distractions

How bad do you want your dream? If you want it as bad as you say you want it, you cannot afford to get distracted. Optimise your environment when you are working and remove all distractions (including that comfy bed). Remove your phone and sit in an area where you can be most productive such as a coffee shop or your dining table.

6. Plan procrastination time in

There is nothing worse than feeling bad after wasting time on social media when you know you should have been completing a task. But if you plan that time in, you won’t be left beating yourself up!

7. Have a chill day

Remember that this is a marathon, not a sprint. You should be taking 1 day out a week to completely rest so that you can continue working at your optimum.

8. Stay focused on the bigger picture

When times get tough (and they will), remember why you started to keep yourself going. Don’t give up. Slow down and rest if you have to but never ever give up.
